What is the EWGA Cup?
The EWGA Cup (formerly the Champions Cup) is a Team Match Play Competition consisting of 18 holes of four ball and 18 holes of singles match play held over two stages - a Regional Qualifier and National Championship. Chapters are divided into regions, and each chapter must qualify for advancement out of their respective Regional Qualifier. The Atlanta Chapter is in the Southern Region. Teams with the highest number of points earned by their matches in the Regional Qualifiers will advance to the EWGA Cup National Championship.
Who is Eligible to Compete?
All EWGA Chapter Members in good standing who are female amateur golfers and have a verifiable USGA Handicap Index of 32.0 or less at the entry deadline are eligible to compete. Eligible players must also have a minimum of (3) 18-hole scores posted to their 2013 handicap record by the Regional Qualifier deadline.
Where and When?
Stage 1: Regional Qualifier
The two-day Regional Qualifier will be held at the Mission Inn Resort & Golf Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida on September 28-29, 2013.
Player Fee: $225 includes two rounds of golf, range balls, golf cart, tee gift, Player Reception on Friday, lunch on Saturday and Sunday, EWGA Cup entry fee, taxes and gratuities
Format: Eight-player teams compete over 2 days; one day will be 18 holes of four-ball match play and the other day will be 18 holes of singles' match play. The team with the most points and perhaps the second place team (depends on number of teams in Regional) will advance to the National Championship.
Stage 2: EWGA Cup National Championship
The EWGA Cup National Championship (Match Play) Final will be played at PGA National (Champion & Fazio courses) in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida on October 19-20, 2013.

Once our team is confirmed by EWGA HQ, the members of the Atlanta Chapter team will be selected and payment will be required for all players. (Please note that team(s) composition will be selected from the lowest to highest handicaps.
Team registration with EWGA HQ closes on July 14th. Each region will have space for 15 teams on a first come, first serve basis. EWGA HQ will confirm teams in July after registration closes. We may field multiple teams depending on response of Chapter members so please contact Leslie right away if you want to play on the Atlanta team. The sooner you respond the more likely we will be able to get additional teams into the competition. A waiting list will be maintained for substitutions.
