Why golf for me? Well yes, golf is a natural for a lawyer but truth is it took awhile for golf to take hold as a passion. When I was a girl, my father, a poor player but passionate weekend golfer, enrolled my sister Lynn and me in lessons at our home course in Litchfield Beach, South Carolina. Lynn pared the first hole and so history in my family began. My father found his athlete and Lynn went on to be the first female on our high school men’s golf team, full scholarship recipient to play at the University of South Carolina and then began her career as a Golf Professional. 
She is now a pro at a beautiful prestigious Greenwich, CT country club. Yes, I am proud of her!
Me? Well, I dropped golf, revisited it briefly in law school and dropped it again. Took lessons to meet men, did meet oneand then when we broke up, I broke up with golf. I confess I used to think that it took too long to play. I would take a lesson and have a decent swing but without regular play I was still lousy.
Then I heard about EWGA Atlanta and thought maybe it’s time to try again. With my stressful job in law, I needed to be more active for health and well being… and l love that in golf, the ball does not come at me! It sits so nicely on the ground waiting for me to address it. I love the outdoors and so being in the lush green of the course makes me happy. I have a competitive spirit and I love the sound of the ball when I put it in the cup! Yes, that is me you hear laughing loudly if I may a great shot! My life has changed - now four hours on the course is like a mini-vacation without the hassle of travel. I absolutely turn off the phone and the emails and the texts. Thanks to EWGAtlanta, I add the joy of new friends and golf without judgment or pressure. EWGA makes room for the great golfers and the improving ones to be in one happy family.
