Sharnee Straub - EWGA Member since 2004; Chapter Chair for Golf Events

My name is Sharnee Elizabeth Straub, Golf Events coordinator for 2013. First let me say I am a golfaholic and I have only played one time in the past 4 months. Therefore, I am going through withdrawal. However this has allowed me the time to put together the EWGA events schedule for 2013.
My golf game has fits of granduer. I have had 4 hole-in-ones during the eleven years I have been playing golf. My best rounds have been 72 three times. I was Ladies Club Champion at The Golf Club at Bradshaw Farm for three years and am currently Ladies Club Champion at Canyon Ridge Golf Club. That's the good stuff. Now there are days when I shoot a score that I should blame on an out-of-body experience because I know I didn't just do that!!! I really enjoy the game and playing with my friends that I have made through EWGA!
My responsibilities are to set up the events schedule - WOW ...and not conflict with major events: The Masters, US Open, British Open, PGA Championship, etc. and not to forget The Lily, Dixie Cup, Champions Cup, Atlanta Birmingham Challenge, EWGA Qualifier, Triple Crown, and Nationals. I'm sure there are others as well. What a challenge and goal to achieve there. Now that I've drug you through that list, other responsibilities are to make sure we have volunteers at each event, plan menu for each event, keep prices reasonable for golf and menu. I'm sure there are many other responsibilities I have yet to learn. One of my goals is to have the entire schedule of events set up before Kickoff!
My personal goal for the year is to shoot a round under par. I am married to Duane, our token male EWGA member. We
enjoy our two daughters, two stepsons and six grandchildren. My day job is as a nurse practitioner in an endocrinology practice. The picture above is me golfing in the wind and rain in Ireland with my caddie!
What I would like from the membership? First, HAVE FUN, PLAY WELL, KEEP IT IN THE SHORT GRASS. After that, please volunteer and let us know if there are opportunities to improve our golf events.
