WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE FOR THE 2012 EWGA CHAMPIONSHIP?
The EWGA Championship is the largest women’s amateur golf tournament in the world. The 2012 EWGA Championship was played in three stages:
- The Atlanta Chapter Qualifier, an 18-hole local qualifying round - Chateau Elan – Braselton, GA – Saturday, June 16, 2012
- The Semi-Final Championship, an 18-hole qualifying round for North Florida and Southeast chapters - Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley in Birmingham, Alabama - July 14, 2012
- The EWGA Championship Finals, a 36-hole final - PGA National Resort & Spa (Palmer & Squire courses) in Palm Beach, Florida - October 5 - 6, 2012
WHAT TYPES OF PLAY ARE THERE?
The EWGA Championship consists of two competitive divisions:
- Stroke Play Division: Eligible participants are flighted (see flight information below) based on their Handicap Index.
- Four-Women Team Scramble: Consists of four (4) participants from the same Chapter who meet the eligibility requirements and have a Team Computation Factor falling within a +2 and -5 range.
Competitors with a handicap index greater than 40.4 at the Chapter Championship level are not eligible to play in the stroke play division.
WHAT ARE THE BASIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS?
- Be an EWGA member in good standing
- Have an official USGA Handicap Index
- Be an amateur female golfer
HOW DO I REGISTER AND PAY?
This year, registration will need to be made through EWGA National and our regular registration for Atlanta Chapter events. Beginning on May 1, 2011 you will be able to go to the National site and register as a nationally eligible Championship participant ($35) and then register for the Atlanta Chapter Qualifier through 123 signup ($75). Please use BOTH links below to complete your application and payment for the Qualifer before June 10th, 2011.
Follow these steps:
- Go to and click on MEMBER LOGIN at the top of the homepage
- Login to the Member Portal with email address & password
- Click on Events in the left-hand column, Select “2011 EWGA Championship Entry” and follow prompts from there
Members who opt out of the online registration may complete the paper form found on line and fax, email or mail their form with payment information to:

Refund Policy: No refunds will be given after June 10, 2011. All refunds before June 10, 2010 will be charged a $10 refund fee.
WHAT SPECIFICS DO I NEED TO KNOW?
- In order to participate, all registrants will be required to have an equivalent of at least two (2) 18-hole rounds posted in the current year’s handicap record.

Scores must be posted by June 15th.
- If you do not have a handicap, you can obtain one by activating your GN21 account and posting scores. In order to be issued a handicap, you must have the equivalent of five (5) 18-hole rounds posted. Two (2) 9-hole rounds will automatically be combined to form an 18-hole round. - On a scramble team, only one member of the team may have a handicap of 12.0 or less.
- Your flight may change based on your handicap at each of the next two stages.
- Note: Distance Measuring Devices are allowed.

WHAT ARE SOME WAYS I CAN PREPARE FOR THE TOURNAMENT?
PLAY GOLF!!! To get your required rounds in, and just to enjoy the game of golf with your fellow EWGA members, participate in:
- PRACTICE AT CHATEAU ELAN!– Every Sunday during weekly play. Additional practice rounds will be set up for the three Sundays prior to the tournament. Check the website for updates!
- Clinics and Lessons with a golfing instructor – Spring Training Range Rallies, tournament clinics, driving range practice
- Weekday and Weekend league play especially out at Chateau Elan!
- Participate in the three tournaments in Early April, May, and June
